Based on the
Infiniti G35 Sedan's FM-platform, Infiniti plans to release the head-turning
G35 Sport Coupe this November. Keeping general design cues
of the 4-door version like the vertically oriented headlights,
or the L-shaped rear lights,
the 2-door version is immediately recogniseable as a G35.
In good old coupe-fashion, it features a long, low-slung
hood, a muscular stance, and a sweeping roofline, providing
a more sporting appearance than its larger relative.
For the coupe, Nissan's 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 will
produce 280hp and 270 lb-ft of torque (versus the
sedan's 260 hp and 260 lb-ft), and will be mated either
to the standard 5-speed automatic transmission with manual
shift mode, already known from the sedan, or an all-new
6-speed close-ratio manual transmission. An advanced 4-wheel
multi-link suspension with extensive use of aluminum-alloy
components, special ripple control shock absorber
technology, and a more aggressive tuning than the sedan's,
should ensure the coupe can also dynamically live up to
what its appearance and engine-specs promise.
